Making Red Peanut Milk
Roast the peanuts
Select large, round, firm red peanuts with intact shells, then remove any damaged or rotten kernels. Alternatively, you can choose Hanuti’s red peanuts. All nuts are carefully selected and certified organic internationally. Ensuring 100% nutritional value in each red peanut.
Place a pan on the stove and heat it up. Once the pan is hot, add the red peanuts. Stir evenly and roast the peanuts over low heat for 15 – 20 minutes. When you see the peanut shells begin to crack, turn dark, and emit a fragrant smell, turn off the heat. Pour the peanuts into a basket to cool, then remove the shells. Alternatively, you can also cook with the shells to increase the nutritional value. Then use your hands to crush and blow away the silk shell. Then put them in a blender to grind the peanuts (if you don’t have a nut milk maker at home).
Making red peanut milk
Use with a nut milk maker: Put all the ingredients into the nut milk maker and turn it on. After about 20 minutes, you will have delicious red peanut milk.
Using a cooking pot: Pour the ground red peanuts into the pot. Add 500ml of filtered water, 250ml of fresh milk, 50ml of condensed milk, and 50g of brown sugar. Place the milk pot on the stove over medium heat, gently stir to dissolve the ingredients and prevent the milk from scorching. At this stage, you can add a few pandan leaves to the pot to enhance the aroma of the milk after it’s done.
When the milk mixture comes to a boil, reduce the heat to low, taste and adjust the sweetness to your liking, then simmer for an additional 5 minutes before turning off the heat.
Strain the cooked milk mixture through a sieve or fine cloth to remove any milk solids. Or you can use the milk solids if you want to add more fiber. Pour the strained milk into a glass and enjoy immediately to savor the creamy aroma of the milk. If you prefer it chilled, let the milk cool completely before pouring it into a bottle, then refrigerate for 1-2 hours.
Storing Red Peanut Milk
After cooking, let the red peanut milk cool completely before pouring it into glass bottles, sealing tightly, and storing them in the refrigerator.
The milk is best consumed freshly cooked when its nutrients are intact. If refrigerated, it’s advisable to consume within the same day.
Milk left for more than 2 days may ferment, causing a loss of vitamins and making it susceptible to bacterial contamination, which may lead to stomach discomfort.
Use glass bottles for storing the milk to prevent odors and ensure health safety.
